For over 30 years, I’ve had the privilege of working as a licensed nail professional, with a large part of my career dedicated to caring for seniors in independent living, assisted living, memory care, and nursing facilities.

I’ve learned something very important: senior nail care is different. It isn’t simply a salon service; it’s about making a difference.

I’ve learned what works and what doesn’t, and I understand the importance of maintaining as much comfort and dignity as possible (because let’s be honest, it’s difficult to have a healthy amount of either in a long-term care environment).

I understand that something as simple as sitting in a salon chair for an extended period can be exhausting for many seniors. Mobility limitations, stiffness, sensory issues, fatigue, and other age-related changes can make a traditional salon experience uncomfortable and unenjoyable. I take the time to work at their pace, providing only essential nail services, which allows me the time to be more adaptable to their needs.

My approach is simple: the person comes before the service I’m providing.

Whether I’m caring for someone who is completely independent or who needs a little extra assistance and patience, I want every client to feel respected, comfortable, and cared for from beginning to end.

After nearly three decades in the nail industry, I’ve found the most rewarding part of my work has nothing to do with nails at all! It’s the conversations, the smiles, the connections, and knowing that I’ve helped someone feel a little better and a little more cared for.
